HRIS Specialists

Having the ability to generate reports, analyze data and supply requested information is important to manage the overall effectiveness and efficiency of a company. An HRIS Specialist is important for this specific reason and will have the ability to develop a process in place or create a system to meet current HRIS needs.

Acting as a liaison between HR and IT, an HRIS Specialist can resolve programming and functionality issues as they arise, generate standard and customs reports from an HRIS database and assist in developing and delivering Human Resources Information Services. HRIS Specialists can also carry out analysis involving the development, installation and administration of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). An HRIS Specialist can streamline HRIS processes by working with staff to assist in designing and documenting business processes, workflow, and output. This involves review, documenting and designing existing or new HRIS processes to eliminate redundancies. An HRIS Specialist will in turn, recommend and implement process improvements to increase the effectiveness of a company’s HRIS processes.

Additional HRIS Specialist responsibilities that will allow a company to be more efficient can include, but not limited to, application support, evaluating objectives and facilitating system solutions, tracking workflow, conducting audits, Human Resources and payroll administration, developing and managing reporting metrics, and leading the daily operations of HRIS reporting. HRIS Specialists can also assist with project feasibility, set goals as needed, and ensure that staff has the necessary skills to meet the goals.

HRIS systems are important for companies to maintain various data including payroll, benefits administration, talent management, and HR management. Having a trained individual in the role of HRIS Specialist can increase the effectiveness of a company’s HRIS processes and offer knowledge regarding improvement with the ability to analyze data and metrics to better the company as a whole.
