Happy Groundhog Day! It is no surprise that our favorite groundhog has seen his shadow!  Very disappoinging news for all of us that are yearning for the brighter and warmer days of spring and the flowers beginning to show their buds.  But, we when we get to this day it is a reaffirmation - spring is around the corner.  We have a little more to get through but it is right ahead.

I can't help but make this comparison to this job market.  We have noticed more and more positions for temp or temp-to-hire job applicants.  It is almost like "the old days" again.  While we hope that many more positions become available on all levels and many more direct hire, we can see that just like spring these positions are around the corner.

What can you as a job seeker do as you await "the spring"? My Advice - Be prepared.  Have a great resume.  Search the job boards and papers ( yes, people still advertise in the paper).  Post your resume on a major board.  Network.  Don't turn down work because you are collecting UE - the job may not be there when your UE stops but UE will be there if your job stops.  And don't forget, the easiest way to make yourself most marketable is to be working. Working in a position you may not love may be just the jumpstart into the one you will!
