Benefits Specialists

Keeping Your Employees Healthy and Happy

Benefits Specialists are necessary to be the mediator between the company and their employees in regard to non-wage benefits offered that are in addition to an individual’s normal wages. This Human Resources specialist regarding benefits will coordinate and oversee such responsibilities including the implementation of group insurance for new hires. These benefits can include, but are not limited to, health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Additional benefits that can be offered and under the responsibilities of a Benefits Specialist, can be sick days, vacation days, retirement benefits, 401K coverage, tuition reimbursement, and profit sharing if offered.

One of the primary responsibilities of a Benefits Specialist is to communicate with vendors. Negotiating contracts are necessary to maintaining current benefits expenses and in meeting the needs of your employees. With the ability to coordinate negotiations with multiple vendors and insurance carriers, a Benefits Specialist will ensure you are offering the necessary benefits packages that will aid in employee retention.

Putting Knowledgeable People in Your Corner

Being that benefits packages are tailored specifically for a company and their needs, it is a Benefits Specialist’s duty to know the options that can be selected by an employee and offer guidance as to the most appropriate plan in which to enroll. Not only will a Benefits Specialist negotiate and set up the initial enrollment for such benefits, they will also be responsible for maintaining the proper documents for those that are eligible and will inform employees of all changes in selected coverage.
